At the beginning of September we received the visit of Shabnam Farahani, from Iran, currently a PhD student in Hydrobiology at the National Academy of Science of Belarus. Her research trip was supported by the eLTER H2020 project’s Transnational Access (TA) scheme.

During her visit in Romania, she spent 3 days in the field, in the Braila Island LTSER site, where she carried a complex sampling program for assessing the spatial differences in seston community as a limiting factor for food quality of freshwater consumers and their C:N ratios in the Danube river.

Sample analysis was carried out after the field trip, at the Research Center for Systems Ecology and Sustainability headquarters in Bucharest where elemental analysis at the CHN analyzer was performed.
